Escape from Mogadishu is a 2021 Korean action-drama film. The film, which is based on true events, takes place in 1991 at the height of the Somalian Civil War and the overthrow of Somali general and president Mohamed Siad Barre by the rebels of Mohamed Farrah Aidid, and follows a group of South and North Korean diplomats and their families as they attempt to hide and escape from the violence and anarchy-filled streets of Mogadishu.

Pistols

Tokarev TT-33

The Tokarev TT-33 is the standard sidearm of all Somalia-affiliated characters.

The AK-47 and its' variants and copies are used by all of the Somalian characters throughout the movie.

Somali rebels are seen holding multiple North Korea-supplied firearms in two images.

Rebels can be seen holding the Heckler & Koch G3, SKS, and an RPK in the image on the left. One of the rifles is identified within the film as a (non-existent) sniper-customized Type 78 AK-47. On the right image, the rebels can be seen holding an M16A1 and an AKS-47.
