The following weapons were used in Season 2 of the television series Criminal Minds:
WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Pistols
Glock 17
Third-Generation Glock 17 pistols are carried by B.A.U. (Behavior Analysis Unit) Chief SSA Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) and Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler). Supervisory Special Agent Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) is also seen at times with a standard Glock 17 (without his Streamlight attachment). At the end of "The Big Game" (S02E14), 'Tobias' (James Van Der Beek) knocks down Reid and briefly threatens him with his Glock 17. Other FBI agents and some police officers are seen with Glock 17 pistols.
Glock 17 (Streamlight TLR-2 weaponlight)
Supervisory Special Agent Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) carries a third-generation Glock 17 with a mounted Streamlight TLR-2 weaponlight/laser module as his duty sidearm. A similar weaponlight-equipped Glock is also wielded by a DEA agent at the opening of "Lessons Learned" (S02E10).
Glock 19
SSA Elle Greenaway (Lola Glaudini) carries a third-generation Glock 19 as her duty sidearm throughout her episodes in Season 2, the weapon last seen at the end of "The Boogeyman" (S02E06). SSA Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) also carries a Glock 19. Glock 19s are also seen carried by various police officers.
Glock 26
A Glock 26 pistol is the duty weapon of the B.A.U.'s 'Communications Liaison' SSA Jennifer 'J.J.' Jareau (A.J. Cook). The Glock 26 is also the backup weapon carried by both Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) and Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), both carried in ankle holsters.
Glock "Non Gun"
In several instances, the Glock is seen fired in a particular episode is a Non Gun replica. This is often used when either a blank-firing weapon was not available or could not be safely discharged during filming. A tell tale sign that a non gun is used is that the firearm's slide doesn't move and doesn't eject a casing when it's fired.
SIG-Sauer P228
Instead of the SIG-Sauer P226 he carried previously in Season 1, FBI Senior SSA Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin) appears to carry a SIG-Sauer P228 as his duty sidearm in Season 2.
Beretta 92FS
Beretta 92FS pistols are used by many characters, including criminals and police officers.
M1911A1
An M1911A1 is notably seen used by the unsub known as 'The Fisher King' in Season 2's premiere "The Fisher King: Part 2" (S02E01). An unsub also holds an M1911A1 in "Aftermath" (S02E05).
Smith & Wesson 5946
A Smith & Wesson 5946 with fixed sights is wielded by a serial arsonist in the episode "Ashes & Dust" (S02E19), but refuses to fire it noticing the benzene-filled building would explode from the muzzle flash.
Revolvers
Smith & Wesson Military & Police
Reid's captor 'Tobias' (James Van Der Beek) uses a Smith & Wesson Military & Police revolver (Predecessor to the Model 10) to taunt Reid with a Russian-roulette like game several times in "Revelations" (S02E15). Reid also gets ahold of the gun in the same episode.
Smith & Wesson Model 29
A serial killer known as the 'Hollow Man' is tracked down in St. Louis, where he uses a Smith & Wesson Model 29 revolver, loaded with hollow point rounds (hence the name), to kill prostitutes in "The Last Word" (S02E09).
Smith & Wesson Model 66
A stainless Smith & Wesson Model 66 is the sidearm of Sheriff Georgia Davis (Melissa Leo) in the episode "No Way Out" (S02E13). She is seen attempting to use it when she is accosted by an unsub in her home, but is drugged with a heavy dose of Ketamine before she can do so. A deputy also holds a similar revolver in "The Boogeyman" (S02E06).
Colt Python
A startled homeowner uses what appears to be a Colt Python in "Fear and Loathing" (S02E16).
Rifles / Carbines
M4A1
Throughout the series, FBI SWAT and several local police tactical units carry M4A1 carbines, both standard models and variants with various accessories.
Norinco Type 56
In "Distress" (S02E17), Roy Woodridge (Holt McCallany), a former U.S. Army Ranger and veteran of Somalia suffering from a PTSD-related psychotic break, sees militia with various AKM variants, among them Norinco Type 56s, but it's an illusion as they are actually SWAT officers with M4A1 Carbines. In a retelling of his past, he can be seen killing a child soldier also armed with a Norinco Type 56.
Shotguns
Mossberg 500AT
Deputy Sheriff Rick Siglock (Otto Sanchez) is seen with a Mossberg 500AT shotgun at the beginning of "No Way Out" (S02E13).
12-Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun
In "No Way Out" (S02E13), Mark Davis (James Horan) barges into a diner with a side-by-side 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun.
Submachine Guns
Non Gun MAC-10
In "Psychodrama" (S02E04), the bank robber Sheppard (Jason Wiles) uses a "Non Gun" MAC-10 fitted with a barrel shroud throughout the episode. In a brief standoff, he convinces a guard to surrender based on the fact he'd go down spraying at civilians.
Machine Guns
Browning M2HB
In "Distress" (S02E17), a flashback shows Somali militiamen riding in a pickup truck converted into a 'technical'. The vehicle has a Browning M2HB heavy machine gun mounted in the bed.
Sniper Rifles
Remington 700PSS
A Remington 700PSS is used by a SWAT sniper in "Distress" (S02E17).
