The Glock 17 is the predominant weapon used by almost all of the main male agents in Season 1, being carried by FBI Supervisory Special Agent Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), SSA Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), and Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler). Second-generation and third-generation variants are seen.  In "L.D.S.K." (S1E06), the Glock is pulled by Hotchner at the firing range when coaching Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) for his firearms qualification. Senior SSA Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin), the initial B.A.U. (Behavior Analysis Unit) Chief, also used a Glock 17, but only in the pilot episode. Afterward, Gideon uses a SIG-Sauer P226. Other FBI agents and some police officers are seen with Glock 17 pistols.

Glock 26
The Glock 26 is the backup weapon carried by both Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) and Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), both carried in ankle holsters. In "L.D.S.K." (S1E06), the Glock 26 is seen when Hotch tricks the 'Long Distance Serial Killer' into letting him beat Reid, but the kicks are a ruse to allow Reid to take the gun from Hotchner's ankle holster. Reid then uses it against the LDSK. The weapon is referenced in "The Tribe" (S1E16) when the Native American tribal policeman assisting the B.A.U. team calls Hotch a 'real gun-hand' to which he adds "you carry two guns." A Glock 26 pistol is also the duty weapon of the B.A.U.'s 'Communications Liaison' SSA Jennifer 'J.J.' Jareau (A.J. Cook).

SIG-Sauer P226
After "Extreme Aggressor" (S1E01), FBI Senior SSA Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin) carries a SIG-Sauer P226 as his duty sidearm. This is a realistic weapon since the FBI did issue the P226. Hotchner has been seen with one a few times, but almost always carries a Glock 17 pistol.

Hotchner has been seen with one a few times, but almost always carries a Glock 17 pistol. The weapon change presents a continuity error when Gideon is seen with his Glock at the end of "Extreme Aggressor" (S01E01) which changes to his SIG at the beginning of the next episode "Compulsion" (S01E02), despite both scenes taking place at the same time and location.

Criminal Minds - Season 1 (2005-2006)

The following weapons were used in Season 1 of the television series Criminal Minds:

SPOILERS.jpg WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!

Handguns

Glock 17

The Glock 17 is the prominent weapon used by almost all of the male main characters in Season 1, being carried by FBI Supervisory Special Agent Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), SSA Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), and Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler). Second-generation and third-generation variants are seen.

Glock 17 2nd Generation - 9x19mm
Glock 17 3rd Generation - 9x19mm. Note the finger grooves, thumb reliefs, and accessory rail on the frame, which differentiate it from the older model.
In the series premiere "Extreme Aggressor" (S01E01), B.A.U. Chief Senior SSA Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin) draws his Glock after stopping a car.
B.A.U. Chief Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin) puts up his Glock while appearing to goad a suspect into shooting him near the conclusion of "Extreme Aggressor" (S01E01).
SSA Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) draws his Glock 17 on an unsub in "Compulsion" (S01E02).
SSA Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) draws his Glock 17 on the firing range in "L.D.S.K." (S01E06) while coaching Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) for his firearms qualification. He mentions three steps to remember: 1=Focus on the front sight. 2=Trigger Press. 3=Follow Through.
SSA Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) draws his Glock 17 in "The Tribe" (S01E16).
Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) wields a Glock 17 while protecting Lila Archer (Amber Heard) in "Somebody's Watching" (S01E18).
SSA Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) draws his Glock 17 in "Secrets and Lies" (S01E21).
Det. Weigert (Anthony Denison) draws his Glock on a Des Plaines police officer in "L.D.S.K." (S01E06).

Glock 19

SSA Elle Greenaway (Lola Glaudini) carries a third-generation Glock 19 as her duty sidearm. Glock 19s are also seen carried by various police officers.

Glock 26

The Glock 26 is the backup weapon carried by both Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) and Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), both carried in ankle holsters. In "L.D.S.K." (S01E06), Hotchner's Glock 26 is first seen when he takes it from his ankle holster while on the firing range with Reid. Later in the episode, Hotchner tricks the 'Long Distance Serial Killer' into letting him beat Reid, but the kicks are a ruse to allow Reid to take the gun from Hotchner's ankle holster. The weapon is referenced in "The Tribe" (S01E16) when the Native American tribal policeman assisting the B.A.U. team calls Hotch a 'real gun-hand' to which he adds "you carry two guns." A Glock 26 pistol is also the duty weapon of the B.A.U.'s 'Communications Liaison' SSA Jennifer 'J.J.' Jareau (A.J. Cook).

Reid uses Hotchner's Glock 26 to take a shot at an unsub's forehead in "L.D.S.K." (S01E06). He later says he was aiming for the guy's leg.

SIG-Sauer P226

After "Extreme Aggressor" (S01E01), FBI Senior SSA Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin) carries a SIG-Sauer P226 as his duty sidearm. This is a realistic weapon since the FBI did issue the P226. Hotchner has been seen with one a few times, but almost always carries a Glock 17 pistol. The weapon change presents a continuity error when Gideon is seen with his Glock at the end of "Extreme Aggressor" (S01E01) which changes to his SIG at the beginning of the next episode "Compulsion" (S01E02), despite both scenes taking place at the same time and location.

Colt 1911 Competition

In "Derailed" (S01E09), a man named Anderson who ends up as a hostage onboard a train can be seen with a stainless steel Colt 1911 Competition pistol in his briefcase, a flashback at the start of the episode showing him having packed it when heading to Dallas to meet his wife to resolve a dispute. He ultimately uses it to end the hostage crisis by shooting the hostage-taker as he's struggling with Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler).

Rifles / Carbines

M4A1

Throughout the series, FBI SWAT and several local police tactical units carry M4A1 carbines, both standard models and variants with various accessories. In "L.D.S.K." (S01E06), a serial shooter uses a modified scoped AR-15 from the trunk of a car (reminiscent of the D.C. sniper incident), aiming to wound people so he (being a paramedic) can attend to the wounds as part of a hero complex.
