When Prescott orders him to treat his downed comrade (Michael had previously chosen to pose as a doctor, using past combat first-aid experience), he distracts Prescott long enough to take his Glock and spray liquid nitrogen down the barrel and suppressor. Prescott then tries to kill Bly with the gun shortly thereafter, only to have the gun explode in his hand and wound him.
