Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) continues to use the 4" Smith & Wesson Model 500 in Season 3. She and Booth both use the weapon in the final showdown with a murderer in Season 3's "Mummy in the Maze" (S3E05). The killer mentions in the episode that the .500 caliber 500 only holds 5 shots, and Booth takes advantage of its power to shoot through a metal door.

In Season 3's "Mummy in the Maze" (S3E05), the murderer dressed as a clown uses a sawed-off 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun in a shootout with Booth. Booth mentions how a military man can miss with a scattergun.

The weapon in the episode was sawn down to the semi-pistol grip portion of the stock with the barrels left relatively long, similar to this weapon - 12 gauge.

In Season 3's "Mummy in the Maze" (S3E05), the murderer dressed as a clown uses a sawn-off double barrel shotgun in a shootout with Booth.
