A Man Before His Time (Prezhdevremennyy chelovek) is a 1972 Soviet drama directed by Abram Room and based on the theater play "Yakov Bogomolov" by Maxim Gorky. The main character, engineer Yakov Bogomolov (Igor Kvasha) passionately gives himself to his work, barely noticing what is happening around him. His young wife Olga (Anastasia Vertinskaya) cheats on him, friends betray, and business companions deceive.
