Dredd is a 2012 science-fiction film that stars Karl Urban as the title character. The film is based on the comic book character "Judge Dredd", who first appeared in comic strips in the British science fiction anthology "2000 AD" and was first adapted into a 1995 feature film that starred Sylvester Stallone as Dredd. The 2012 film is a "reboot" and the cast includes Lena Headey and Olivia Thirlby.
The following weapons were used in the film Dredd:
WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Pistols
"Lawgiver"
The "Lawgiver" is the standard pistol carried by the Judges in the film, including Dredd (Karl Urban) and Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby). It can fire in several different modes, with the gun visibly changing shape (such as the barrel extending). Firing models appear to be built around a Glock pistol with a full-size grip, such as a Glock 17 or Glock 19.

A Walther P38 lies next to its wounded owner.
Varan PMX-90
A Varan PMX-90 pistol can be seen in Ma Ma's (Lena Headey) safe room.
The PMX-90 can be seen hanging on the wall. Note the Vektor R4 in the background.
Beretta 92FS
Numerous thugs carry Beretta 92FS pistols.
A gang member hauls Anderson away with a Beretta 92FS tucked in his waistband.
Beretta 92FS Inox
One of Big Joe's thugs carries what appears to be a Beretta 92FS Inox pistol outside the Medical Center. Many other thugs use them as well.
Beretta 92FS Inox - 9x19mm
The gang member on the left has a Beretta. The one on the right carries a Glock 17.
One of Big Joe's men aims his 92FS. Note that the actor's thumbs are covering the area where the safety would be if this is in fact a Beretta pistol.
The muzzle of the thug's 92FS can be seen at the far right.
A thug carries what appears to be a 92FS during the stairway battle (circled in red).
A thug aims what appears to be a 92FS (circled in red) at the information terminal.
Vektor CP1
Caleb (Warrick Grier) carries what appears to be a Vektor CP1 as his personal sidearm.
Caleb fires his CP1 at the camera.
In the aftermath of the minigun scene, Caleb searches for the Judges with his Vektor CP1 in hand (circled in red).
Vektor SP1
One of the kids who confront Dredd and Anderson at the information terminal carries a Vektor SP1. Many criminals also carry them.
The kids nervously observe Dredd and Anderson.
"
Freeze!" The child on the left has the SP1, the one on the right has a Star Model B.
Star Model B
One of the kids who confront Dredd and Anderson at the information terminal carries a Star Model B. Another is seen in Ma Ma's safe room at the end.
The telltale external extractor is visible here (if the picture is enlarged to full size).

Shotguns
South African Musler 12 Gauge Tactical Action
A criminal can be seen firing a shotgun. As this film was produced in South Africa, the shotgun is likely a 12 Gauge Musler, a South African-manufactured shotgun similar in appearance to the Mossberg 500.
A criminal can be seen firing a shotgun.
A gang member holds his Musler on a member of the "Judged" gang. The man in orange appears to have a Glock 17, and the man second from the right holds a Beretta 92FS Inox.
A criminal cradles his shotgun in the Slo-Mo den.
Another criminal with a Musler. Note that this shot has been reversed.
A gang member trains his shotgun on the terminal booth.
Over and Under Shotgun
Some gang members are seen with Over and Under Shotguns of unknown make. They appear to have their barrels cut down and stocks removed.
Photoshopped Sawn-Off Over/Under Shotgun – 12 Gauge
A gang member runs down the hall with an Over/Under shotgun.
What appears to be the same gangster can be seen with his O/U shotgun in the bottom left (circled in red).
Franchi SPAS-12 (Fictional Mock-Up)
Judge Alvarez carries a Franchi SPAS-12 fitted with fictional dressings to appear futuristic.

Judge Alvarez sweeps the drug lab with his modified SPAS-12.

Alvarez fires his mocked up SPAS-12. He fires it semi-automatically, a rare sight in film.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
Towards the end of the film, Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) uses a Heckler & Koch MP5A3. This particular weapon is fitted with a "Navy SEF" trigger group, which is essentially a Navy trigger housing with the non ambidextrous SEF selector and markings. Her MP5 switches between having a three-lug barrel and a "smooth" barrel (similar to that of a chopped and converted HK94) in a continuity error.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3 - 9x19mm
Dredd prepares to kick down a door whilst Anderson holds her MP5A3 at the ready. Here, Anderson's MP5 appears to have a three-lug barrel (this can be seen if the image is enlarged to full size).
A better shot of Anderson's MP5A3.
Here we get a view of the MP5A3's "Navy SEF" trigger pack. Also note Olivia Thirlby's trigger discipline.
Another shot of Anderson's MP5A3.
Note that the MP5 lacks the traditional three-lug barrel in this scene.
A gang member loads up his MP5. Note that this shot has been flipped.
Armscor BXP
A criminal can be seen with an Armscor BXP. Several other thugs in the movie carry the BXP as well.
A criminal leans out of a car window to shoot at Dredd, who is pursuing him on a motorcycle.
The same criminal holds his BXP on a hostage. Throughout the film, both the Judges and criminals demonstrate excellent trigger discipline, which is very unusual.
A gang member holds a BXP dressed up to appear futuristic.
Micro Uzi
Several gang members use Micro Uzis throughout the film.
A Micro Uzi can be seen on the wall at the right.
Another Micro Uzi lies on the bed next to a wounded Ma Ma.
Assault Rifles
Vektor R5
Several criminals can be seen with slightly dressed up Galil Pattern rifles. As this feature was filmed in South Africa, it can be assumed that these weapons are actually Vektor R5s.
A criminal with an R5 fitted with a railed handguard.
This R5 appears to have had the front sight removed and the handguard is held together with tape and elastic bands. This same R5 makes several other appearances in the film.
A different criminal with and R5, also with the front sight removed.

Another gang member about to meet his demise at the hands of Dredd's incendiary round.

Steyr AUG
A Steyr AUG can be briefly seen in Ma Ma's room.
Steyr AUG Carbine - 5.56x45mm
The AUG can be seen hanging on the wall, among other weapons.
Machine Guns
Unidentified Machine Gun
An unidentified machine gun can be seen mounted to the side of Judge Dredd's motorcycle. It appears to have a double "saddle" type ammunition drum as seen on some WWII era German machine guns such as the MG34.
File:Dredd Trailer (11).jpg The machine gun in question is mounted to the left side of Dredd's bike, and is visible here during a car chase scene.
M249 Para
Big Joe (Joe Vaz) carries an FN M249 SAW Para.
M249 Paratrooper - 5.56x45mm NATO
"
It's you doin' the complying Judge!" Big Joe threatens Dredd with his M249 Para in hand.
Prop Minigun
Fictional oversized versions of the GE M134 Minigun can be seen on pedestal mounts.
General Electric M134 with first pattern spade grip mount and crosshair sights - 7.62×51mm NATO
A number of criminals open up with the miniguns on the orders of Madeline "Ma-Ma" Madrigal (
Lena Headey). The weapons are too large for genuine M134 Miniguns, and the size of the ammunition feed implies it fire a round larger than 7.62×51mm.
A reverse shot of the fictional minigun.
Note the impressive muzzle flash, and the pile of brass in the background.

Lena Headey) operating one of the miniguns.
