Modified Saiga-12 Shotgun

The unique weapon used by Ceasar Vargas (Pedro Damian) in the film is a modified Saiga 12 shotgun. It's mentioned by the gun expert Charlie Hertz in the film as the "White Whale", or the gun that's not supposed to exist. Designed specifically for this movie and built by gunsmiths Larry Zanoff and the late Jim Boland, the weapon is mentioned to fire depleted uranium shells. It is seen fired in both its compact configuration and in its full extended configuration. The weapon is also fitted with a green laser sight and C-more red dot sight. This weapon was also used on the TV series Firefly as Jayne's favorite gun "Vera".

Beretta 9000S

LAPD Det. Mitch Preston (Robert De Niro) is seen carrying a Beretta 9000S at the beginning of the film. He hides it in a large slush cup when he goes to a gun buy.

Throughout the rest of the film, Mitch carries a Smith & Wesson 4505 as his main sidearm.

Beretta 92FS Pistol

The Beretta 92FS is the main sidearm of LAPD officer Trey Sellars (Eddie Murphy) at the beginning of the film.
