The custom engraved Remington 1875 used by Gene Hackman in The Quick and the Dead (1995) This is the actual revolver used in the film.
is there much difference between the Colt SAA and the Remington 1875? or are they pretty much identical
- Well, the obvious visual difference is the web under the barrel, the shape of the grip and the ejector rod are also somewhat different. Functionally they work the same, are about the same size (well, the SAA with the 7 1/2" barrel) and chamber most of the same cartridges. Colt does offer more selection in chamberings though. Really, functionally there's not much to argue between an SAA and a Rem 1875 of similiar barrel length. Really comes down to personal preference. - Nyles
