Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard is the 2021 action comedy sequel to 2017's The Hitman's Bodyguard. Ryan Reynolds returns as Michael Bryce, the now retired protection agent who is tracked down by Sonia (Salma Hayek), who happens to be the wife of Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson), the former mortal enemy of Bryce who has been kidnapped by mobsters. Patrick Hughes returns as director and the cast includes Morgan Freeman, Frank Grillo, and Richard E. Grant along with Hayek's Desperado co-star Antonio Banderas. The film was originally scheduled to be released theatrically in August of 2020, but was delayed until June 16, 2021.
