Money Heist (Spanish title: La casa de papel, lit. "The House of Paper") is a Spanish crime drama series that follows a group of thieves led by the enigmatic "Professor" as they attempt to rob and take control of the Royal Mint of Spain and later, the Bank of Spain. The first season of the series was originally aired on Spanish TV network Antena 3 in 2017. Netflix obtained the exclusive streaming rights for the series later in the year, and between 2019-2021, the show received an additional two seasons.
The show has received an international remake, and a prequel series. Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area (Korean title: 종이의 집: 공동경제구역, Jongi-ui Jip: Gongdonggyeongjeguyeok; lit. "The House of Paper: Joint Economic Area"), is a South Korean adaptation which takes place in an alternate history mid-reunification Korea, and follows a group of thieves as they take control of and print money in the Unified Korea Mint. Netflix announced the adaptation in November 2020, and released it in two parts on June and December 2022. Berlin is a prequel series announced by Netflix in November 2021 and released in December 2023. Pedro González Alonso reprises the role of Berlin. The series has been renewed for a second season.
