M1903 Springfield
Bert the Cop carried an M1903 Springfield during World War 2 when he fought in North Africa.

Bert the Cop carries an M1903 Springfield with an under barrel bayonet. All pictures came from a 2 disc Collector's Set Edition.
Colt Official Police
Bert the Cop carries a holstered Colt Official Police and uses it near the end when George Bailey runs away to shoot Bailey after George Bailey wished that he was never born.
