Dredd is a 2012 science-fiction film that stars Karl Urban as the title character. The film is based on the comic book character "Judge Dredd", who first appeared in comic strips in the British science fiction anthology "2000 AD" and was first adapted into a 1995 feature film that starred Sylvester Stallone as Dredd. The 2012 film is a "reboot" and the cast includes Lena Headey and Olivia Thirlby.
The following weapons were used in the film Dredd:
WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Pistols
"Lawgiver"
The "Lawgiver" is the standard pistol carried by the Judges in the film, including Dredd (Karl Urban) and Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby). It can fire in several different modes, with the gun visibly changing shape (such as the barrel extending). Firing models appear to be built around a Glock pistol with a full-size grip, such as a Glock 17 or Glock 19.
Special
Walther P38
One of Big Joe's thugs outside the Medical Center carries a Walther P38.
Varan PMX-80
A Varan PMX-80 pistol can be seen in Ma Ma's (Lena Headey) safe room.
Beretta 92FS Inox
One of Big Joe's thugs carries what appears to be a Beretta 92FS Inox pistol outside the Medical Center. It is not seen clearly, so its identity as a Beretta is not confirmed.
Shotguns
South African Musler 12 Gauge Tactical Action
A criminal can be seen firing a shotgun. As this film was produced in South Africa, the shotgun is likely a 12 Gauge Musler, a South African-manufactured shotgun similar in appearance to the Mossberg 500.
Franchi SPAS-12 (Fictional Mock-Up)
Judge Alvarez carries a Franchi SPAS-12 fitted with fictional dressings to appear futuristic.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
Towards the end of the film, Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) uses a Heckler & Koch MP5A3. This particular weapon is fitted with a "Navy SEF" trigger group, which is essentially a Navy trigger housing with the non ambidextrous SEF selector and markings. Her MP5 switches between having a three-lug barrel and a "smooth" barrel (similar to that of a chopped and converted HK94) in a continuity error.
Armscor BXP
A criminal can be seen with an Armscor BXP. Several other thugs in the movie carry the BXP as well.
Micro Uzi
Several gang members use Micro Uzis throughout the film.
Assault Rifles
Vektor R5
Several criminals can be seen with slightly dressed up Galil Pattern rifles. As this feature was filmed in South Africa, it can be assumed that these weapons are actually Vektor R5s.
Vektor R4
A Vektor R4 is seen in Ma Ma's safe room.
Vektor CR-21
Guards at the Hall of Justice can be seen carrying Vektor CR-21 rifles.
Vektor R4 (AK Mockup)
Several gang members use Vektor R4s mocked up to replicate AK-47 pattern rifles.
Steyr AUG
A Steyr AUG can be briefly seen in Ma Ma's room.
Machine Guns
Unidentified Machine Gun
An unidentified machine gun can be seen mounted to the side of Judge Dredd's motorcycle. It appears to have a double "saddle" type ammunition drum as seen on some WWII era German machine guns such as the MG34.
M249 Para
Big Joe (Joe Vaz) carries an FN M249 SAW Para.
Prop Minigun
Fictional oversized versions of the GE M134 Minigun can be seen on pedestal mounts.
