The Hot Spot is a 1990 neo-noir directed by Dennis Hopper and centers around Harry Madox (Don Johnson), a cynical drifter who arrives in a small town in Texas, and gets work in a local business. Once there, Harry begins working on a bank robbery plan and becomes involved with two different women: Dolly (Virginia Madsen), a wife who desires her husband dead, and Gloria (Jennifer Connelly), a young woman who is being harrassed by local blackmailer Frank Sutton (William Sadler).
