In the Line of Duty: Manhunt in the Dakotas

In the Line of Duty: Manhunt in the Dakotas (alternate title: Midnight Murders) is a 1991 NBC TV movie based on the real-life manhunt for Gordon Kahl after he killed two U.S. Marshals in North Dakota in 1983. The movie stars Rod Steiger as Kahl, and Michael Gross as Richard Mayberly, the federal agent sent to hunt him down.

Ithaca 37

Sheriff's Deputy Leyland Winters (Gary Basaraba) uses a Ithaca 37 with an extend magazine tube during the first shootout with Gordon Kahl, and agent Mayberly later uses one during the raid on Kahl's home. Other federal agents and police officers are also seen using Ithaca 37s during the finale.

CAR-15

CAR-15 rifles are used by some U.S Marshals while apprehending two of Kahl's accomplices.

The flash hider is a smaller diameter copy of the XM-177 and has no sound suppression qualities and is permanently welded onto the barrel to make it legal length for over the counter gun store sales.
