The "White Whale" weapon featured throughout the film is a modified Saiga 12 shotgun. Beretta Px4 Storm

LAPD Det. Mitch Preston (Robert De Niro) is seen carrying a Beretta Px4 Storm Compact at the beginning of the film. He hides in a large slush cup when he goes to a gun buy.
