Long Miles of War (Dolgie vyorsty voyny) is a Soviet 1975 made for TV war movie directed by Aleksandr Karpov and based on short stories by Vasil Bykov. Each of the three series of the movie tells about a small episode of war: the first one, The Cry of Cranes, tells about a small group of Soviet soldiers who defend a position in August 1941, the second one, The Rapid Attack, takes place in March 1942 and depict an attack of Soviet infantry company on German positions on a hilltop, and the third one, At Sunrise, takes place in May 1945 and tells about one of the last battles of the war.
