Orca (also known as Orca: The Killer Whale) is a 1977 adventure horror film directed by Michael Anderson and starring Richard Harris as Nolan, a captain of a whaling boat who catches large marine animals in high seas near Newfoundland. Nolan's hunt for an orca leads to the death of a pregnant female orca. The male orca starts revenge against Nolan, his crew and other people of the coastal village, showing high intellect. Nolan has to go to sea to find and fight his nemesis. The movie is based on Arthur Herzog's novel of the same name.

The following weapons were used in the film Orca:

Greener Light Harpoon Gun

Nolan uses a Greener Light Harpoon Gun in several scenes.

Ithaca 37

An Ithaca 37 pump action shotgun is one of the guns on board of Nolan's boat Bumpo. Nolan uses this shotgun in the final scene, until it switches to pump action rifle (see below) due to a continuity error.

Unidentified shotgun (?)

An extremaly large gun (a shotgun rather than rifle) is also seen in Nolan's hands. It doesn't fire on screen. Possibly this is some kind of punt gun or a handheld harpoon gun. It has a side handle that can be a bolt handle or, in case the gun is top-break, a provision for mounting.

Winchester Model 70

Nolan also uses a Winchester Model 70 with sniper scope in several scenes.

Unidentified pump action rifle

One of the guns on board of Bumpo is a pump action rifle. It bears resemblance with Remington Model 760 but the pump has different, more angular shape that can be seen on Remington Model 7600 that in turn didn't exist in 1977. The rifle is seen in hands of Paul (Peter Hooten) and Umilak (Will Sampson); in the final scene Nolan's Ithaca 37 shotgun switches to this rifle due to a continuity error.

Various long guns

Two more long guns are seen in the rack on board of Bumpo.

The buttstocks of four guns in the rack are seen at the far right.
The barrels of two unknown guns are seen at the right. The one at the left appears to be a pump action shotgun.
