Volunteered and qualified for a special Air Forces unit in 1990, during my mandatory military service (no payment) in Spain. The unit was named "Unidad de Proteccion Especial" (special protection unit). We were in charge of the protection of the Air Forces Headquarters. I served 10 months in the bodyguard section assigned to VIP protection. Things were choppy those days in Madrid due intense basque terrorist activity (ETA).
Went for private security from 1991 to 1995. Recycled to Linux/internet security, worked from 1998 to 2008 in that field in several countries.
Framed in the summer of 2008 by the Spanish mafia, served 21 months in prison with two ETA assassins in the same block. Managed to resist the temptation to stab them in the showers and got released in 2010.
Got an early retirement in 2010 and since then i'm just a humble amateur journalist, one of my hobbies at high school along with computers and stand comedy.
