Renegade X is a fan-made, free-to-play standalone game created by Totem Arts, and is based on 2002 PC game Command & Conquer: Renegade, which was developed by Westwood Studios and published by Electronic Arts. This page includes weapons based on real firearms, as well as some fictional, but possible, weapons.
The following weapons appear in the video game Renegade X:
In Renegade X multiplayer, the game pits players in to two teams: Global Defense Initiative (GDI) and the Brotherhood of Nod. All players start as a basic Soldier, and will respawn as one once they have been killed. Both teams have a variety of free characters, such as Engineer, Marksman and Shotgunner, as well as special characters, who can be acquired with in-game credits. Each player has a timed C4 and Silenced Pistol by default. C4 can be replaced with grenades for free, and the Silenced Pistol can be replaced by a free Machine Pistol, or they can use credits to switch to Heavy Pistol or Carbine. Credits can also be used to purchase combat vehicles or special weapon strikes, such as A-10 strike, AC-130 strike or even a nuclear missile.
Both teams have Harvesters, which gather poisonous Tiberium crystals to be processed at the teams' Refinery. Once ready, all players of the team gain in-game credits. Players can also kill enemies and damage or destroy their base structures, or repair their own, to gain credits.
Walther P22 appears in three different forms: "Silenced Pistol", "Heavy Pistol", and "Machine Pistol". Silenced Pistol is the default sidearm for all characters, and holds 12 rounds in the magazine, whereas the real P22 only holds 10. Heavy Pistol can be purchased with earned in-game credits as a replacement for the Silenced Pistol, and holds 8 rounds in the magazine. Machine Pistol is a free replacement for the Silenced Pistol, and it features full-auto firing mode and holds 30 rounds. Originally, all variants had Walther markings on the slides and grips, but these were removed later.
SPAS-12 appears simply as "Shotgun", and is available to the Shotgunner character of both armies. It is set to pump-action and holds correct 8 shells.
Rifles & Sniper Rifles
FN F2000 Tactical
"Tactical Rifle" used by the character Patch from GDI is based on FN F2000 Tactical. It holds 50 rounds in the magazine.
Heckler & Koch SL8
"Marksman Rifle" is based on Heckler & Koch SL8, and is the main weapon of Marksman character of both armies. It holds 10 rounds in the magazine, which resembles a 20-round M14 magazine.
"Sniper Rifle" is based on DSR-1, and is used by Deadeye from GDI and Stealth Black Hand from Nod. It is equipped with a suppressor and a four-round magazine.
M26 Hand Grenade
M26 hand grenade is a free replacement for the default timed C4 used by all characters. Player can carry three of these.
General Dynamics GAU-19/A
General Dynamics GAU-19/A is mounted on Nod APC's. It's referred to as M134.
Mk 153 Mod 0 SMAW
Mk 153 Mod 0 SMAW appears as "Missile Launcher", and is the main weapon of Rocket Soldier character of both armies. It can lock onto targets (including infantry) when aimed for a couple of seconds.
M230 Chain Gun
M230 Chain Gun is mounted on Nod's Apache helicopters.
General Electric GAU-8/A Avenger
General Electric GAU-8/A Avenger is mounted on GDI's A10 ground-attack aircraft.
M102 105mm Howitzer
Nod's AC-130 gunship fires its M102 Howitzer when attacking.
Tiberium Flechette Rifle
"Tiberium Flechette Rifle" can be purchased with in-game funds to replace the default pistol. It can only be acquired after successfully capturing a Tiberium Silo tech structure. It holds 50 rounds of Tiberium shards.
"Flak Cannon" is used by MacFarland character of GDI. While it's referred to as "Flak Cannon", it behaves like a shotgun. It's primary fire is a frag round, and the secondary is buckshot. The weapon is pumped after every shot and is fed from a 12-round revolving cylinder, as in a revolver, but the whole cylinder is changed when the weapon is reloaded. The handguard is borrowed from SPAS-12.
"Ramjet Rifle" is somewhat based on Barrett sniper rifles, featuring similar overall appearance. It is reloaded by inserting four rounds into the weapon's integral magazine and then pulling the charging handle. It's used by Havoc from GDI and Sakura from Nod.
The "Automatic Rifle" is the standard weapon used by the Soldier character class of both factions. It features a 100-round drum magazine and a red dot sight mounted on top of the carry handle. The weapon bears some resemblance with the M41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens, such as the large carry handle, the rectangular handguard, and the presence of a red LED round counter (but on the back of the carry handle rather than on the right side of the weapon).
A weapon simply called "Carbine" can be purchased with earned in game credits to replace the sidearm for any character. It is equipped with a thirty-round magazine, a suppressor and a holographic sight. It bears some resemblance with Steyr AUG.
Tiberium Auto Rifle
"Tiberium Auto Rifle" is another weapon that is acquired upon capturing a Tiberium Silo. Its magazine holds 25 rounds of Tiberium bullets, which have serious bullet drop. It features some resemblance with FN F2000.
"Grenade Launcher" is used by Grenadier character of GDI. It has an 8-round cylinder, which is completely replaced when reloading as with the "Flak Cannon" mentioned above. It's primary fire is a standard grenade exploding upon impact, and the secondary fire is timed grenade which explodes a few seconds after firing.
A flamethrower is used by (fittingly) the Flamethrower character of Nod. It has 100 "rounds" of fuel in it's canister.
A coaxial M240C is mounted on GDI's Medium Tanks, but are for looks only and cannot be used.
