The Guardians is a 2017 French movie directed by Xavier Beauvois based on the 1924 novel Les Gardiennes by Ernest Pérochon. France, 1915: Her two sons are away at war, so Hortense and her daughter Solange have to run the farm without male help. She hires Francine, a young orphan, to work in the fields as a maid. She hopes to have finally found a family. When Hortense's son Georges visits the farm, he falls in love with Francine. Soon he has to return to the front, and the young woman faces a new challenge.

Georges fires his right revolver. A few moments before, he used the left one to shoot a German soldier.
Shortly after he brandishes his two revolvers to a new target.
Luger P08
A Luger P08 is held by a German officer.
The
Leutnant (2nd Lieutenant) points his Luger pistol while approaching George. Note the
Gasmaske Modell 1917; all German soldiers in the nightmare wear gasmasks.

Mauser Gewehr 1898
German soldiers are armed with the Gewehr 1898 to which the matching Seitengewehr 98/05 bayonet is carried in the scabbards.

A Hotchkiss M1914 appears in Georges' nightmare on his bed.
Hotchkiss Modèle 1914 - 8x50mmR Lebel
Georges starts firing his Hotchkiss which suddenly appears on his bed.
He mows down the standing German soldiers.
