Firearms in ''World of Shooting'' are split into various "tiers" based on their action type, magazine size, or feed system. For example, shotguns are split into four tiers: break-action (tier I), pump-action tube-fed (tier II), semi-automatic tube-fed (tier III), and semi-automatic magazine-fed (tier IV). Experience points can be gained by completing stages or setting new high scores and can be spent to upgrade weapons (which directly improves their stats across a few different categories) or purchase attachments. Some attachments are interchangeable among multiple weapons, such as shotgun chokes, while others are unique to a single firearm, such as alternate grips or barrel lengths.
