The majority Utawarerumono seems to take place in an alternate feudal Japan where everyone has some form of animal ears, and in some cases a tail. In actuality it's a distant future where the human race has been genetically altered to live on the planet after it's been ravaged by radiation and terraformed.
The following Guns were used in the anime Utawarerumono:
Custom Beretta 92FS
Used to shoot The Archaeologist in Episode 22. It looks to be based on the Barry Burton Samurai Edge from the Resident Evil Game Cube Remake.
Fictional Tranquilizer Gun
Used by soldiers in Episode 26 to retrieve "Iceman" and Mikoto.
