New versions of images

Seems you were trying to upload a new version of an image and running into the usual issue of it apparently not updating. It does update, but it takes a while (as in sometimes days) for the image page to change. On the work page itself you can force an update by changing the image size; for example, 500px to 501px. 1911s

The Series 70 is there. It's listed under it's full name Colt Mark IV Series 70 or something like that. Luckily with Mythbuster's it's done with good light so you can get a good look at them. Most of the time we have to go with the generic M1911A1. --Predator20 01:18, 3 December 2011 (CST)

RE:Mythbusters

FN Minimis have a flat sided handguard with textured panels, whereas M249 variants have horizontal grooves and aren't textured. --commando552 14:20, 3 December 2011 (CST)

Maadi Griffin

It took me a bit to remember the make of the rifle. Before the company was involved in a dispute with the BATFE you used to be able to get mail order kits advertised in various gun magazines. The ones i remembers were in "Shotgun news". I've also more recently read about their problems with the BATFE. As far as IDing the gun I wasn't sure until I found a comparison image between the LAR Grizzly and the Maadi Griffin.Rockwolf66 00:06, 4 December 2011 (CST)

Yo Zackmann08, how old are you again? :D No offense, but those of us who are a bit 'long in the tooth' remember the Maadi Griffin well. It was ALL OVER the back ads of the Shotgun news and all other shooting magazines back in the 1980s/1990s. Yep and it was a kit that you could have mailed to you as well. Sigh, the good ol' days. What is sad that we routinely LOSE gun rights, and yet after a while, people think nothing of it and are actually 'SHOCKED' at the stuff we bought and sold years ago. Ah, to be young again ... You're cool with updating and finished those pages. I was just pointing this out to warn new members not to create any new ones. This is the warning on the page for 'category: Documentary'. It reads: "Warning: Documentaries are NOT automatically approved for inclusion into IMFDB. Most of the remaining documentaries have been 'grandfathered in', i.e. they were created before IMFDB ruled against including documentaries. Even those which are grandfathered in must be of exceptional quality and completeness to stay. The ones given a waiver have a limited amount of time to improve, or they are removed. As of now, there is a blanket moratorium on all 'new' documentary pages. If you have a page you wish to create, please run it by the Mods first to see if it warrants a waiver from the ban. " Thanks. I am NOT some guy, I am also an admin and if you looked at the recent changes, you can see that I am constantly monitoring this site. I'm with Ben on this. The biggest problem we had with non-firearms. People go to far with them. Only if they play a major role in the film do we allow them. Rambo's bow in Rambo II for instance. Just make a note on their main pages to see the talk page for non-firearm weapons. --Predator20 18:19, 7 December 2011 (CST)

Another instance where I would say to allow non guns on the main page is if they could possibly be confused with a real firearm by the layman, such as some paintball guns and airguns.
