According to ''Military Small Arms Of The 20th Century. 7th Edition'' by Ian V. Hogg and John S. Weeks (Krause Publications, 2000) pg. 187 the Lee-Metford was adopted by the British under the official designation of "Rifle, Magazine, Lee-Metford Mk 1" in 1888. The Lee-Enfield Mk 1 with the Enfield rifling was adopted and sealed in 1895 by the  British military. The production of ''[[Breaker Morant]]'' actually converted some of the later model Lee-Enfields to look like the Mk I. It's my understanding that the Lee-Enfield Mk I was used in the Boer War so there is no way to actually determine which rifle was used in the movie. I'm going to stay with the Lee-Enfield identification. Thanks though. --[[User:Jcordell|Jcordell]] 09:50, 8 July 2011 (CDT)

Breaker Morant

According to Military Small Arms Of The 20th Century. 7th Edition by Ian V. It's also my understanding that the production of Breaker Morant actually converted some of the later model Lee-Enfields Mk III's to look like the Mk I. It's my understanding that the Lee-Enfield Mk I was used in the Boer War so there is no way to actually determine which rifle was used in the movie. I'm going to stay with the Lee-Enfield identification. Thanks though. --Jcordell 09:50, 8 July 2011 (CDT)
