Retired Professional Engineer (Machine Design), 50+ years experience with firearms and enjoyment of movies which include them. Starting from the time I turned 11 years old, until I was about 20, if I was sitting down I was reading / studying a gun-related book, usually a Gun Trader’s Guide, which I memorized. Shooter’s Bibles, Gun Digests, Firearms Auction catalogs and special topic books, particularly related to classic firearms such as Winchester, Remington, Colt, Walther and Mauser, were all available and enthusiastically read. Small Arms of the World became my test material; show a picture, recite the information, read the description and move on. I loved them all.
