Work In Progress This article is still under construction. It may contain factual errors. See Talk:The X-Files - Season 4 for current discussions. Content is subject to change. |
The following firearms were used in Season 4 of the television series The X-Files.
Pistols
SIG-Sauer P226
After carrying a different weapon in Season 3, FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) returns to carrying a SIG-Sauer P226 as his sidearm, which he carried during Season 2. Mulder would carry the P226 for the entirety of the show from Season 4 onwards. Mulder's superior, FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) is also seen with a full-size P226 in "Unrequited" (S4E16).
SIG-Sauer P228
After carrying a different weapon in Season 3, FBI Special Agent Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) returns to carrying a SIG-Sauer P228 as her sidearm, which she carried during Season 2. Scully would carry the P228 for the entirety of the show from Season 4 onwards, except for several Season 4 and Season 5 episodes when she used a SIG-Sauer P225 instead (see below). FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) is also seen with a P228 in "Zero Sum" (S4E21).
SIG-Sauer P225
In several episodes, Dana Scully used a SIG-Sauer P225 rather than the P228 she used in Season 2 and other episodes of Season 4. This might have occurred because the show's armorer was unable to bring a P228 on-set for those particular episodes. Scully first used the P225 in "Unruhe" (S4E02). Mulder and Scully's superior, Assistant Director Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) also occasionally carried a P225.
Walther PPK
Fox Mulder carries a Walther PPK as a back up weapon, carried in an ankle holster. He is seen using it when he loses his SIG-Sauer P226 during "Paper Hearts" (S4E10).
Smith & Wesson 5906
Special Agent Dana Scully is seen using the Smith & Wesson 5906 handgun that she used in Season 3 in the Season 4 premier episode "Herrenvolk" (S4E01).
M1911A1
Nathaniel Teager uses an M1911A1 to shoot several U.S. Army generals in "Unrequited" (S4E16). Skinner also appears to use a M1911A1 in one scene from "Zero Sum" (S4E21).
Taurus PT92AFS
The Gray-Haired Man (Morris Panych) uses a nickel-plated Taurus PT92AFS to shoot at a pane of glass between him and Fox Mulder during "Memento Mori" (S4E14), reloading several times. One is also used by a potential military witness to commit suicide in "Max" (S4E18).
Makarov PM
In the episode "Terma" (S4E09), a number of Russian guards on horseback are seen armed with Makarov PM handguns as they shoot at Mulder while he is escaping the Tunguska gulag.
Ruger KP89
'Deep Throat' (Jerry Hardin) uses a Ruger KP89 to shoot an alien in "Musings of a Cigarette-Smoking Man" (S4E07).
Unknown assassin pistol
Scott Garett uses an unknown pistol in an attempt to shoot Louis Frish, a military witness, in "Max" (S4E18).
Unknown Pistol
During "Tunguska" (S4E09), Alex Krycek (Nicholas Lea) tosses an unknown pistol out of the window of a truck when he surrenders to Mulder.
Revolvers
Colt Detective Special
Lee Harvey Oswald uses a Colt Detective Special to shoot a policeman during episode "Musings of a Cigarette-Smoking Man" (S4E07).
Taurus Model 66
Conrad Lozano (Rubén Blades) carries a stainless Taurus Model 66 in "El Mundo Gira" (S4E11). Soledad Buente (Jose Yenque) also uses the revolver at one point.
Mulder's revolver
In a dream during "Paper Hearts" (S4E10), Fox Mulder grabs his father's revolver from a box. This is the same revolver he attempted to use to save his sister Samantha from alien abduction as a child, seen briefly during Season 2's "Little Green Men" (S2E01).
Unknown revolvers
Throughout the season, many characters use various revolvers. Few are seen very clearly.
Rifles
M16A1
The M16A1 rifle was used on a regular basis throughout The X-Files run as either a military and/or SWAT weapon. M16A1 rifles are used by the militia gunmen and several FBI agents in the episode "Tunguska" (S4E08).
M14
An M14 rifle is used by a militia gunman in the episode "Tunguska" (S4E08).
Norinco Type 84S
The Norinco Type 84S is seen used by guards at the Tunguska gulag in the episode "Terma" (S4E09).
L85A1
An L85A1 is one of the weapons carried out of Denny Markham's compound in "Unrequited" (S4E16).
Unknown rifle
One of the weapons carried out of Denny Markham's compound in "Unrequited" (S4E16) is an unknown rifle.
The Cigarette-Smoking Man's Rifles
The Cigarette-Smoking Man uses three rifles during "Musings of a Cigarette-Smoking Man" (S4E07).
First Rifle
Second Rifle
Ruger Super Redhawk (mocked up to resemble the KAC silent revolver rifle)
The third rifle is what appears to be a Ruger Super Redhawk .44 Magnum mocked up to resemble the KAC silent revolver rifle. This is a long barreled pistol has a carbine length bull barrel, and a bipod and black synthetic buttstock. The rifle has appeared in movies and television shows filmed in Canada including Another Stakeout and Psych. It was previously used in the X-Files by an FBI sniper in the Season 1 episode "Lazarus" (S1E14).
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
Special Agent Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) uses a Heckler & Koch MP5A3 with an attached flashlight during the FBI raid on the militia in "Tunguska" (S4E08). Various soldiers also use MP5A3s through the show.
Shotguns
Remington 870
Special Agent Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) uses what appears to be a Remington Model 870 with a pistol grip and mounted flashlight during the FBI raid on the militia group in "Tunguska" (S4E08).
Other
FGM-148 Javelin
One of the soldiers exiting Denny Markham's compound in "Unrequited" (S4E16) appears to be carrying a Javelin launcher.
