The following firearms can be seen in The Train(1964):

The Train (1964)

MP 40 Submachine Gun

Both the German Army and the French Resistance use the MP40 throughout the movie. Paul Labiche (Burt Lancaster) uses it during a nightime raid and at the end when he confronts Colonel von Waldheim (Paul Scofield).

MP40 - 9x19mm
German soldier with a slung MP40.
Labiche (Burt Lancaster) aghast as he watches young Resistance fighter Robert getting shot.

Mauser 98k Rifle

It appears that both the German Army and the French resistance use the Mauser 98K Rifle throughout the movie.

Karabiner 98k - 7.92x57mm Mauser. The only visual difference between the 98b and 98k is the 98b has a 29.1" barrel and correspondingly longer stock.
Two Resistance members disguised as German soldiers pretend to guard Labiche (Burt Lancaster) and Didont.
A German soldier gets shot by Labiche.

MG42 Machinegun

The German Army uses the MG42 throughout the movie.

MG42 with bipod extended - 7.92mm Mauser
German gunners on top of the train prepare to execute French hostages in the film's climax.
Another shot from the same scene.

Maxim MG08 Machine Gun

It appears at the beginning of the movie the German sentries outside of the museum have a Maxim MG08 Machine Gun.The lighting is not very good unfortunately.

Luger P08

Colonel von Waldheim (Paul Scofield) carries what appears to be a Luger P08. He very briefly attempts to pull it when Major Herren (Wolfgang Preiss) countermands one of his orders, but he never gets it out of the holster before Herren grabs his wrist and restrains him.

Luger P08 - 9x19mm.
Von Waldheim tries to draw his sidearm. What appears to be the toggle mechanism of a Luger can be slightly seen.

Beretta M1934

Pilzer (Arthur Brauss) uses a Beretta M1934 to shoot a young French Resistance member during the fake air raid blackout. It's only seen very briefly in the darkened train station before Labiche (Burt Lancaster) kills him.
