The Rookie is a 1990 action film about a veteran LAPD Detective who teams up with a rookie cop to take down an auto theft ring. Not to be confused with the 2002 Dennis Quaid baseball movie The Rookie.

LAPD Detective Nick Pulovski (Clint Eastwood) carries a Smith & Wesson 4506 as his main sidearm throughout the film.

Pulovski pulls his S&W on the auto thieves. "Who's in the cab?" "Santa Claus".

"And I'm the tooth fairy."

Beretta 92FS

The Beretta 92FS is the main sidearm of LAPD Detective David Ackerman (Charlie Sheen) at the beginning of the film.

Beretta 92FS - 9x19mm.

"Shoot her!" Ackerman hesitates with his Beretta.

LAPD officers aim their Berettas as Pulovski is taken hostage.

Steyr GB

Later in the film, Ackerman switches to a Steyr GB as he threatens patrons at a biker bar.

Ackerman draws his Steyr GB in the biker bar.

Ackerman threatens the bartender.

Ackerman raises his GB at Liesl (Sonia Braga).

Smith & Wesson Model 29

Pulovski uses a Smith & Wesson Model 29 when he chases Strom (Raul Julia) through the airport. He later takes the bullet hanging around Strom's neck and loads it in his revolver.

"There's gotta be a hundred reasons why I don't blow you away. Right now, I can't think of one."

Airport police draw Smith & Wesson Model 15 pistols on Liesl during the airport lobby chase.

Liesl (Sonia Braga) uses a Micro-Uzi during the airport chase.
