The Kansas City Revolutionaries, including Lieutenant Perry ([[Jeffrey Pierce]]), are mostly armed with [[Beretta 92FS]] pistols taken from FEDRA soldiers after taking over the city in "Please Hold to My Hand" (S1E04). Their leader Kathleen Coghlan ([[Melanie Lynskey]]) also uses the gun while interrogating Edelstein ([[John Getz]]). A revolutionary executes a FEDRA soldier with a captured Beretta during a flashback at the beginning of "Endure and Survive" (S1E05). At the end of the same episode, Kathleen prepares to shoot Henry with her gun but is attacked by a freed infected. The two Firefly members hold Berettas when they find Anna ([[Ashley Johnson]]) at the beginning of "Look for the Light" (S1E09). Later Joel ([[Pedro Pascal]]) picks up a Beretta from a dead Firefly soldier and uses it in a pediatric surgery unit and parking lot shootout. |

Toward the end of the episode, Joel Miller ([[Pedro Pascal]]) picks up Lee's rifle after beating him and continues to use the gun in "Infected" (S1E02), notable during the confrontation with the two clickers at the Bostonian Museum and near the Massachusetts State House at the end of the episode. Joel leaves the rifle in one of the smuggler's stashes in "Long, Long Time" (S1E03), claiming it will be difficult to get ammunition for it (even though .223 is one of the most common calibers in the US). Army and FEDRA soldiers are seen with rifles during a mandatory evacuation in Lincoln, Massachusetts in the flashback. Anti-FEDRA revolutionaries, including Lieutenant Perry ([[Jeffrey Pierce]]), are mostly armed with captured M4A1s with Trijicon TA01 ACOG scopes, Aimpoint CompM2 CCOs and/or EOTech holographic sights (some that are fake) with RIS foregrips and KAC rail covers, some now sporting revolutionary colors after they seize control of Kansas City from FEDRA in "Please Hold to My Hand" (S1E04). Perry and the other revolutionaries are also armed with M4A1s during the battle with the Infected in "Endure and Survive" (S1E05). The first season follows Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal), a smuggler tasked with escorting teenager Ellie Williams (Bella Ramsey), across a post-apocalyptic United States. The season premiered on the premium cable channel HBO on January 15, 2023.
The following weapons were used in Season 1 of the television series The Last of Us:
WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Pistols
Beretta Model 70
When the raiders attack Bill's town in "Long, Long Time" (S1E03), Frank (Murray Bartlett) pulls a Beretta Model 70 out of a dresser and helps Bill. Later, Ellie (Bella Ramsey) finds the same gun and puts it in her backpack. At the beginning of "Please Hold to My Hand" (S1E04), the girl examines and aims her gun at the mirror, then hides it. During the raiders' attack in Kansas City, she shoots Bryan (Juan Magana), saving Joel (Pedro Pascal), after which he takes the gun away. While hiding from the revolutionaries, he teaches Ellie how to hold the gun correctly, allowing her to keep it. Ellie uses the gun briefly during the escape from Kansas City through the tunnels and during the battle with infected in "Endure and Survive" (S1E05). At the beginning of "Kin" (S1E06), Ellie uses the gun during a meeting with Marlon and Florence (Elaine Miles), and later upon arriving at the University of Eastern Colorado and confronting the raiders. She shoots at David's group from horseback, attempting to lead them away from Joel in "When We Are in Need" (S1E08). After being captured by the cannibals, Ellie loses her gun.
Beretta 92FS
FEDRA soldiers carry Beretta 92FS pistols as their sidearms in drop leg holsters, notably in "When You're Lost in the Darkness" (S1E01). The Kansas City Revolutionaries, including Lieutenant Perry (Jeffrey Pierce), are mostly armed with Beretta 92FS pistols taken from FEDRA soldiers after taking over the city in "Please Hold to My Hand" (S1E04). Their leader Kathleen Coghlan (Melanie Lynskey) also uses the gun while interrogating Edelstein (John Getz). A revolutionary executes a FEDRA soldier with a captured Beretta during a flashback at the beginning of "Endure and Survive" (S1E05). At the end of the same episode, Kathleen prepares to shoot Henry with her gun but is attacked by a freed infected. The two Firefly members hold Berettas when they find Anna (Ashley Johnson) at the beginning of "Look for the Light" (S1E09). Later Joel (Pedro Pascal) picks up a Beretta from a dead Firefly soldier and uses it in a pediatric surgery unit and parking lot shootout.
Colt M1911A1
Robert (Brendan Fletcher) uses what appears to be a Colt M1911A1 during a firefight with the Fireflies in "When You're Lost in the Darkness" (S1E01). Bill (Nick Offerman) uses an M1911A1 as a sidearm in "Long, Long Time" (S1E03). When he meets Frank the first time he takes him at gunpoint, but then he helps. Revolutionary Lieutenant Perry (Jeffrey Pierce) carries a second pistol, namely a Colt M1911A1 with black grips, on a holster on his plate carrier in "Please Hold to My Hand" (S1E04) and "Endure and Survive" (S1E05). James (Troy Baker) uses a Colt in "When We Are in Need" (S1E08), approaching Ellie from behind. In the flashback in "Look for the Light" (S1E09), Marlene (Merle Dandridge, reprising her role from the video game) is armed with a Colt when she finds Anna in the abandoned house. One of the Fireflies soldiers (Primo Allon) also carries what appears to be a Colt M1911A1 in a holster at the Salt Lake City hospital.
Colt Commander
Kim Tembo (Natasha Mumba) points what appears to be a Colt Commander at Joel after a firefight with Robert's gang in "When You're Lost in the Darkness" (S1E01).
Colt Defender
Tess (Anna Torv) is armed with a blued Colt Defender with wood grips and a spurred hammer before going into the tunnel in "When You're Lost in the Darkness" (S1E01). At the end of the episode, she briefly uses the gun during a conflict with Marlene and Kim. Before entering the Bostonian Museum in "Infected" (S1E02), Tess pulls out her gun again and shoots several times during a confrontation with the clickers. Riley (Storm Reid) is armed with the same gun (with spurred hammer), but with black Hogue rubber grips, which she received from the Fireflies in "Left Behind" (S1E07).
In the video game, the Colt Defender, referred to as the "9mm Pistol", is the first weapon Joel acquires.
Colt Government Model
