The International (2008)

The International is a 2009 thriller film directed by Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run). The film stars Clive Owen as Interpol agent Louis Salinger and Naomi Watts as NY attorney Eleanor Whittman. Together the pair tries to take on a corrupt bank, that serves as an arms dealer to various corrupt governments and organizations.

The following guns were used in the film The International:


Beretta 92FS

Inspector Alberto Cerutti (Alessandrio Fabrizi) carries a Beretta 92FS as his sidearm. He gives it to Interpol Agent Louis Salinger (Clive Owen) when he pursues a fleeing assassin in Milan.

Beretta 92FS Inox

The Italian Carabinieri captain (Luigi Di Fiore) carries a Beretta 92FS Inox as his sidearm. He uses it most notably to kill an assassin in Milan. In real life, the Arma dei Carabinieri officers would have been using the Beretta 8000 Cougar or the standard-issue Beretta 92FS.

Smith & Wesson Model 66 Snub

NYPD detective Bernie Ward (Jack McGee) carries a snubnose Smith & Wesson Model 66 as his service weapon. He is most notably seen pulling it on a suspect at the Guggenheim museum. After Ward is injured, Louis Salinger uses the Model 66 until it runs out of ammo.

Glock 17

The assassin only known as "The Consultant" (Brian F. O'Brynne) carries a Glock 17 as his sidearm in the film. He is most notably seen wielding it during the shootout at the Guggenheim Museum.

Brügger & Thomet TP-9

Several gunmen are seen using Brügger & Thomet TP-9 machine pistols (converted to fire automatic) to shoot at Salinger when he follows the Consultant to the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Salinger picks up one of the weapons and uses throughout the subsequent gunbattle, and somewhat realistically, has to reload twice.

Sauer 200/202

Sauer 200/202 in .300 Win Mag. with an unknown composite stock and unidentified scope. The rifle is explicitly referred to as a "Sauer 200" by Salinger when he examines the angle from which the bullets were fired.

Browning Hi-Power

A hitman, credited only as "Italian Gentleman" (Franco Trevisi) uses a nickel plated Browning Hi-Power near the end of the film in Italy. He uses it to dispose of an important target.
