Franchi LF-57

Can anyone tell if the SWAT officers are really using LF-57s, or are those actually Walther MPL or MPKs? I haven't seen this movie in a while, but I thought I remembered them as Walthers. -MT2008 16:32, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Those are Walther MPL or MPKs. We had 2 MPL and one MPK in the Ellis inventory. - Steve
Thanks for the confirmation, Steve. Also, were the P228s converted/modified specially for this movie, or did Ellis acquire them beforehand? I may have over-stated this on the page. -MT2008 04:16, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
The P228's with the ITC laser systems were converted for the show. We used 228's that were bought for the film In The Line of Fire. - Steve

Franchi SPAS-12

I set up Franchi SPAS-12 to operate on Semi-Auto in this film as it was called for in the script. Most of the times you see Franchi SPAS-12 operating on film they are in pump mode. The Franchi SPAS-12 gas system is mediocre at best when operating with blanks that is way most are used in pump mode only. I set up three for the show to work in Semi-Auto mode and they worked perfect with the gas system modified. - Steve

Huh, interesting info. Yeah, I remember hearing that the SPAS-12 has trouble cycling blanks on semi-auto. Good thing you finally got it to work. -MT2008 02:03, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
