I have this, but it's for the Amiga so I can't really cap it. It *does* show pictures of the player-used weapons the first time you pick them up, and it has a rather silly error where the programmers seem to have not known they had a picture of an M79 with a shoulder strap, so they rendered it as part of the gun. Your lack of effort is duly noted. This article is a candidate for deletion. IMFDB expects certain minimal standards from articles; even if a contributor cannot take their own screenshots, it is still possible to create detailed per-weapon writeups and format an article correctly. Simply dumping a couple of weapon names on a page is essentially demanding we do all the work for you, and this is unacceptable. |
Terminator 2: The Arcade Game is a 1991 rail-shooter based on the movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day and released initially in arcades, followed by home ports for the SNES, Sega Genesis and Commodore Amiga. The game casts one or two players as Terminators who work their way across the future battlefield before being sent back in time to protect John Connor, with player one as the movie T-101 and player two as the made-up T-102.
The following weapons appear in the video game Terminator 2: The Arcade Game:
Westinghouse Phased Plasma Rifle
The Westinghouse M95A1 Phased Plasma Rifle is the main armament of enemy Terminators in the Future War sequence, and is also presumably the player's weapon during this sequence. According to this game, the M95A1's spare barrel is a semi-automatic rocket launcher.
M134 Minigun
A truck mounting a rather poorly-realised M134 Minigun is seen in the third mission, carrying John Connor to Skynet's main facility to capture the time machine.
Winchester Model 1887
The Winchester Model 1887 replaces the player's rocket launcher during the "present day" (ie 1990s) missions. In game terms, this just means the rocket is replaced by a splotchy buckshot effect. An image of Arnold Schwarzenegger holding the movie 1887 was also used to decorate the side of the cabinet for the arcade version.
Handheld M134 Minigun
A handheld M134 Minigun is a limited-duration power-up dropped by Sarah and John Connor during the assault on Cyberdyne if the player avoids shooting them. It increases the size of the player's projectiles and can be fired constantly, unlike the regular gun which will fire very slowly if its "gun power" gauge is run down by constant fire.
Beretta 92FS
The T-1000 (Robert Patrick) is armed with a Beretta 92FS, which he somehow fires in fullauto during the final confrontation.
M79 Grenade Launcher
The M79 Grenade Launcher replaces the Winchester 1887 when picked up, and provides a much more powerful secondary weapon. It is only available in the Steel Mill stage, where it is used to fight the T-1000.
