Regarding 7.62x54
It is either called 7.62x54R (with R for Rimmed) or 7.62x54mm (with R for Russian added optionally and separately). --Masterius 07:08, 23 September 2011 (CDT)
- When regard for the mosin nagant and SVT-40 and the like its allways going to be called 7.62x54R for rimmed. The 7.62x54 cartridge is a different round and is primarily used for linked ammo, ex. Heavy Machine guns--Nuffmuffin 16:12, 23 September 2011 (CDT)
- It is the same cartridge dating back to Russian Empire period. And if you are talking about Russian Maxim machine guns, they used this cartridge as well. --Masterius 07:41, 24 September 2011 (CDT)
