1873 Winchester vs. 1876 Winchester

Doesn't Waite's (Kevin Costner) rifle look more like a Winchester 1876? I just watched this movie, and when I saw the gun the first I thought was that it was a 1876--User: Colt Revolver Fan.

No there is a difference. Compare the two photos of the 1873 and the 1876 then look at the rifle Costner is using. It's an 1973. --Jcordell 21:33, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

First the Winchester 1873. Note the back of the reciever where it meets the rifle stock.

Now look at the Winchester 1876 and it's reciever.

Now look at the Winchester that Costner is using. It's an 1873.
