The Beretta AR-70/90 is a gas operated self loading assault rifle chambered for the 5.56mm cartridge, and is the standard issue service rifle of the Italian Armed Forces. The Beretta AR-70/90 assault rifle was developed in the 1980s when the Italian Government decided that its military and law enforcement agencies needed a new standard service weapon. It was made to be compatible with other NATO weapons, which the AR70/90's predecessor, the [[Beretta BM59|BM59]], was not.

Gun's Pattern

Question, but is the AR-70 based on the AR-18 platform? Or do they just look similar on the outside but the internals are completely different, like in the case of the AK and the Vz.58? Noire (talk) 09:16, 16 January 2019 (EST)

Nope, is just a coincidence. Maybe is like the AK and Vz.58 case.--Dannyguns (talk) 05:31, 19 January 2019 (EST)

The A-Team appereance

I've swept through all the pages of the TV series as well as the movie, checked the rifle's image pages to look for links, and even tried to use Google. I found nothing suggesting the Beretta AR-70 was featured in The A-Team. So not only that listing to The A-Team in the AR-70's page is incomplete and vague, it may be factually incorrect since I didn't find any evidence of the gun appearing in the show nor the movie. I think it should be erased. --Dan San (talk) 20:12, 11 July 2020 (EDT)
