Steyr MPi 81 - 9x19mm

The MPi 69 and the MPi 81 are two 9mm open-bolt submachine gun of Austrian origin. The original MPi 69 was introduced in 1969, and notably, it had a feature where its charging handle also acts as the forward sling mount; the weapon is cocked by grasping the sling and pulling it left and down slightly to release the lock, then pulling it rearwards. The updated MPi 81 introduced in 1981 replaced this novel feature with a conventional charging handle, and the forward sling mount was relocated to a hanger mounted on the barrel retention nut.
