This is an original/early Barrett M82 because of the early muzzle-brake, the lack of vent-slots in the fore-grip, the square trigger guard, and the simpler stock. A similar rifle had previously been used in the film The Taking of Beverly Hills.

Initially identified as a Smith & Wesson Model 586, but the revolver in the movie has a pinned barrel. When Smith & Wesson introduced the 586/686 in 1981 the company had phased out the barrel pin feature. The 586/686 model was never produced with that feature. See Discussion page for details.

Norinco Type 84S Target

Soldiers who try to stop Waxman's car appear to be armed with the Norinco Type 84S Target.

Norinco Type 84S "Target" Rifle - 5.56x45mm. Basically a standard Norinco Type 84S with a slightly longer barrel. This variant was ready for market just as the 1989 US import ban was implemented, so it is mostly seen in Canada. It has an 18.5" barrel and was very rarely seen in the U.S. Gun market.

Rotary cannon

The Huey helicopter sent to eliminate Waxman and Clegg is armed with a rotary cannon mounted underneath.
