Saxon M1873 Army revolver - 10.6x15mm R

Saxon M1873 Army revolver (Sachsen Reichsrevolver M1873) is a service revolver, designed and put into service in the Kingdom of Saxony. It was based on Smith & Wesson Model 2 revolver and became the first German revolver using a metal cartridge. The revolver was manufactured in 1873-1878 by F Langenhahn in Zella-Mehlis in two models: M1873 and slightly improved M1874. In 1880s it was replaced by the Reichsrevolver M1879, the standard sidearm of Imperial German Army. The obsolete M1873 revolvers were converted from rimfire to central fire and sold to civilian market.
