Return from the River Kwai (1989)

Return from the River Kwai is a 1989 WWII film that stars Timothy Bottoms, Chris Penn, and George Takei. The film involves events surrounding the infamous "Death Railway" built in Burma during the war by the Japanese using forced labor that included captured POW's. A similar premise was famously seen in the classic 1957 film The Bridge on the River Kwai, but this film is not a sequel despite the name and had to carry a legal disclaimer stating so.

Sterling SMG

The Sterling SMG is used by Lt. Crawford (Chris Penn) during the failed attack on the POW Train. As this weapon was designed around 1944 and rumors of first batches been used in Operation Market Garden, may have been possible but very unlikely that this SMG would have been seen in the Pacific Theater.

No.4 Lee Enfield

The No4 Lee Enfield is used by the Chindits during the failed attack on the POW Train.

Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk.I - .303 British. This was the main battle rifle of British and Commonwealth forces during World War Two, however, it was supplemented heavily with the older Lee Enfield No.1 MK.III. In service between 1941–Present
