Porco Rosso (Japanese: 紅の豚, Hepburn: Kurenai no Buta, lit. Crimson Pig) is the sixth film from Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki. At the end of the 1920s, during the reign of the Italian fascists, the Pig-headed pilot Porco Rosso, a veteran of the First World War, fought for peace in the sky around the Mediterranean as a bounty hunter. On his travels, he teamed up with the talented mechanic Fio Piccolo. When Porco is challenged to a duel by a boastful pilot, a fight begins that will forever change the lives of the two flying aces.

The following weapons were used in the anime film Porco Rosso:

Pistols

Beretta M1923

Two Italian Organizzazione per la Vigilanza e la Repressione dell'Antifascismo (Italian for "Organization for Vigilance and Repression of Anti-Fascism") secret police officers can be seen with low-detailed Beretta M1923 pistols during the take off in the channel.

Beretta M1923 - 9x19mm Glisenti
The left officers start firing their Berettas at Porco's plane.

Glisenti Model 1910

The third secret police officer seems to be armed with a Glisenti Model 1910 pistol.

Glisenti Model 1910 - 9mm Glisenti
The right officer behind the wall fires his pistol. Note the shape of it.

Mauser C96

One of the Air Pirates that confronts Porco and Fio carries a Mauser C96.

Mauser C96 - 7.62x25mm
The pirate on the far left holds his Mauser pistol.

Revolvers

Colt Single Action Army

Several pirates carry Single Action Army revolvers.

A pirate leaning out from the planes' cockpit fires his SAA in the air.
The SAA is seen on the belt of the left pirate.
One of the pirates keeps a Single Action Army tucked in his waistband next to a Webley revolver.

Webley Mk VI

The Webley Mk VI revolvers are also used by pirates including the leader of the Mamma Aiuto Gang Capo.

Webley Mk VI - .455 Webley
An off-screen pirate to the right threatens Porco with his Webley.
The pirate behind Fio wields a Webley revolver.

Smith & Wesson Schofield

The American pilot Donald Curtis owns a Smith & Wesson Schofield revolver that he uses during the flying duel. A close-up of Curtis on a poster at the end shows the revolver has ornate engravings.

After making his statement clear, he is about to break it.
The opened revolver in his hand; the ejected spent casings flying out.
With no hands left on the control stick, he fills the cylinder with loose rounds.

Submachine Guns

Haenel-Schmeisser MP28/II

Haenel-Schmeisser MP28/II submachine guns are seen in the hands of various pirates. The appearance of the MP28 seems to be correct since the movie's plot takes place in the late 1920s (1929 to be precise if you look at Porco's "Mare Blu Cinema" magazine at the beginning).

A look at the barrel with the sling attached to it.
Another MP28 seen carried by one pirate on the right.
The shouldered MP28 allows a view of the magazine's bottom.

Rifles

Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III*

A pair of Air Pirates carry Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III* rifles that look almost exactly like those ones from Miyazaki's 1986 movie Castle in the Sky. The SMLEs are equipped with Lee-Enfield No. 4 muzzles and (sometimes) with Lange Visier rear sights from Gewehr 1898.

Another SMLE on the left lacks the magazine.

Mauser Rifle

Some Mauser rifles are also used by the pirates that have characteristics from many Mauser variants. Having the full-length barrel, turned-down bolt handles and under-barrel sling swivels like a Karabiner 98b, some are seen with hooded front sights from a Karabiner 98k. Due to the setting of the movie, the Kar98b would be more accurate or a Mauser Standard Modell.

The hooded front sight and under-barrel mounted sling swivel can be seen in the foreground.
In the background, a Mauser rifle is raised to the air.
Two more Mauser rifles are seen which show the front sights and the turned bolt handle.

Aircraft Machine Guns

Custom Maxim lMG 08

Porco purchases an Aircraft Pattern MG08 Maxim with a custom barrel jacket for his red Savoia S.21 plane in the Milan gunshop. He is offered some special armor-piercing rounds for it, what he gratefully refused.

The custom modified Maxim gun is ready to be picked up on the workbench.
Porco picks up the gun what gives a view of the barrel.
He examines the Maxim's action.
Fio opens up the weapons' hatch of Porco's plane.
Chosen rounds set and lined up on the table.

Vickers Aircraft

Several Vickers Aircraft Machine Guns are seen mounted on fighter planes throughout the film.

Lewis Aircraft Gun

The Pirates' fictional aircraft "DaboHaze" is outfitted with an Aircraft Mounted Lewis Gun with a larger trigger guard.

Fiat-Revelli M1914

Macchi M.5 single-seat fighter flying boats are armed with air-cooled Fiat-Revelli M1914 machine guns. This type of plane was also armed with British Vickers Aircraft Machine Gun.

Maxim lMG 08/15

During Porco's memories of a dogfight in the Summer of 1918, some Austro-Hungarian Hansa Brandeburg CC aircrafts can also be seen with fixed lMG 08/15 machine guns (with smaller barrels) what is correct since this aircraft was equipped with either Maxim or Schwarzlose Machine Guns.

Other Weapons

Stielhandgranate

Many Stielhandgranaten are used by the pirates, that have various characteristics from different stick grenades. The movie grenades are equipped with a top head on the warhead (similar to the Model 43 Stielhandgranate), a pull cord coming out of the stick like the Model 15, or the Italian Type "L" AT grenade.

Aircraft cannon

A large cannon that appears to be a very chunkily-rendered Solothurn S-18 20mm Anti-Tank Rifle given the stock, sight and side-loading, appears mounted on one of the pirates' planes. It loads using some kind of stripper clip arrangement rather than its usual box magazine, and the barrel and rounds are scaled up to the point it resembles a small tank gun.
