Although he chickens out later and flees the scene before they enter, he returnes at the climax of the film. After using his car to run over and kill Jones' henchman Matheson (Craig Robinson), he proceeds to fire the shotgun at the dead man's foot, blowing part of it off.
NOTE: In the promotional poster for the movie, Red is holding a sawed off Remington 870 instead of the actual gun he uses in the film.
SIG-Sauer P226
