Mutant Chronicles (2009)

The following guns appeared in the film Mutant Chronicles (2009):'

Fantasy 'Wheel lock style' Rifle

In keeping with the 'Steam punk' style of the film's technology (of the year 2207 AD) a lot of the soldiers look like a mishmash of World War 1 soldiers with mixed European gear and a very bulky fantasy rifle that looks like it has a 'wheel lock' looking mechanism in the middle.

Soldiers line up to fight the mutants with their "Wheel-lock style" fantasy rifles. Note the mix of helmets, British P-1944 Turtle MK IV Steel Helmet, Small Kevlar "Fritz" helmet, another MK IV and a Dispatch Rider helmet.

Maj. 'Mitch' Hunter (Thomas Jane) fires his Fantasy Rifle

A nice closeup of the 'wheel lock design' of the side of the rifle. Of course it's NOT a Wheel lock, but the "Steam punk" design is evocative of the classic Wheel lock mechanism.

          It looks like there's an air tank under the barrel at the front, could this be pneumatic?

SMLE

One of the soldiers in the trench in the beginning has an Short Magazine Lee Enfield (No1Mk.III) with a bayonet just before he is blown up by a mortar round.

Early on Lt. Maximillian von Steiner (Benno Fürmann) aims a highly modified MAC-11 pistol at Maj. 'Mitch' Hunter (Thomas Jane). Though it is decorated with science fiction addons, it is clearly a MAC-11 as the base pistol.

Mauser Rifle

Heavily modified Mauser rifles are disguised as future weapons, however, the receivers and bolts are clearly visible. Most notably carried by Cpl. Valerie Duval (Devon Aoki) and Maj. 'Mitch' Hunter (Thomas Jane)

Karabiner 98k - German manufacture 1937 date - 7.92x57mm Mauser

Remington 870

A heavily modified Remington 870 shotgun is used by one of the soldiers in the film.

Fictional pistol

Major characters appear to hold a heavily customized pistol. It's hard to say if it is based on a real live firing pistol design since the gun fire seems to be all CGI and not blank fire in the film.

Maj. 'Mitch' Hunter (Thomas Jane) fires his pistol.

these last two images, my best guess is that the pistol is a heavily modified colt 1911 or 1911 clone. The barrel on the top picture looks kinda small, could be an airsoft pistol.

Major Hunter's Pistol is based on a Glock of some type. In the scene where he is about to draw on the two thugs who are selling seats on the lifeboat, there is a close-up shot of the pistol in its holster with a great view of the distinctive Glock grip.

Swiss ZFK55 Sniper Rifle

Turkey Baster Gun

The forces of Balhaus seem to carry a heavily modified gun, could be an M3 Grease Gun, however, the final result is a 'turkey baster' looking firearm.

Medieval English Sword

Any sword experts here? Help me out.

Yeah, looks to be around the right size. Longsword's a two-handed grip and a blade > 35in, I think.

I don't think its a long sword not a big enough grip

    Long swords are one handed swords. It's probably a bastard sword.

A Bastard sword IS a type of Long sword, so are Broad swords and Two-handed swords (not including Great swords). - Mr. Wolf 19:18, 4 April 2011 (CDT)

Valerie Duval (Devon Aoki), Brother Samuel (Ron Perlman), Severian (Anna Walton), Cpl. Jesus 'El Jesus' de Barrera (Luis Echegaray), and Maj. 'Mitch' Hunter (Thomas Jane).

I've seen the film a couple of times, and I'd swear that those are one-handed longswords. The fact is that actors that don´t have sword training usually wields them as if they were 'bastard' swords. Bastard is a term coined in the XIX century to name what is today called a Hand and a half sword, that is, swords with a long enough pommel to be used one or two handed. That type of sword have a blade between 105-115 cm long, and the swords in the film are clearly shorter, about 85-90, a length usual for a one-handed longsword. It looks to defiantly be a one-handed sword. By the design it seems like a late middle ages french style one and a half handed broadsword. I didn't see it quite close enough to see if it was a one handed sword that the actors hold like a one and a half.
