Makarov is a 1993 Russian thriller directed by Vladimir Khotinenko (The Priest) and starring Sergey Makovetskiy as Aleksandr Makarov, a talented poet who illegally purchases a Makarov pistol. Soon, the poet finds out that the pistol has a strange power over his mind and behavior.

A Makarov PM pistol is a major plot device of the movie that sets the events into motion. It is seen in the hands of Aleksandr Makarov (Sergey Makovetskiy) and some other characters.
Margo (Irina Metlitskaya) holds the pistol.
Vasily Tsvetaev (Vladimir Ilyin) disarms Makarov.
Stechkin APS
In the scene where Aleksandr Makarov (Sergey Makovetskiy) visits a militsia (police) shooting range, a Stechkin APS is used to fire at targets.
Mikhail Yevgrafovich (Viktor Smirnov), the chief of the local militsia, shows an APS to Makarov. Note the trigger discipline.
Vasily Tsvetaev (Vladimir Ilyin) fires the APS.
Reck Agent
In one scene, Savely Funtov (Sergei Parshin) shows a snub nose revolver to Aleksandr Makarov. Funtov calls it as "a gun that can blow a head into pieces", but in reality the revolver appears to be a gas-firing Reck Agent. Such guns are often seen in Russian movies filmed in the 1990s.
