Let Sleeping Cops Lie (Ne réveillez pas un flic qui dort) is a 1988 French crime movie directed by Jose Pinheiro and starring Alain Delon as police commissaire Eugène Grindel. Grindel's opponent is his colleague, commissaire Roger Scatti (Michel Serrault) who secretly arranged the ultra-right wing organization among the police. This organization called "Loyalty to the police" was similar to South American death squads. Grindel with several assistants faced with a situation where any police officer could become an enemy... (Note: this isn't a spoiler because the opening scenes of the movie shows Scatti and his death squad at work).
The following weapons are seen in the movie Let Sleeping Cops Lie (Ne réveillez pas un flic qui dort):
Revolvers
Manurhin MR-73
Most of the police and Gendarmerie officers are armed with Manurhin MR-73 revolvers. Personal weapon of Eugène Grindel (Alain Delon) is MR-73 Gendarmerie model with 4-inch (?) barrel and rubber grips. There can be also seen several other models of MR-73 that differ in barrel length and the grips.
Two of the main characters use revolvers that looks similar to MR-73 but a little different: commissaire Roger Scatti (Michel Serrault) and police inspector Péret (Patrick Catalifo), Grindel's main assistant.
Ruger Security Six
Police officer Lutz (Xavier Deluc), one of Scatti's men, is armed with Ruger Security Six revolver. This is historically correct because Ruger Security Six was one of the service revolvers of the French police.
Pistols
M1911
Police inspector Spiero (Stéphane Jobert) is armed with M1911 pistol during most scenes of the movie (in the final scene he replaced it with MR-73 revolver).
Walther P38
Walther P38 is the weapon of Pierre Stadler (Féodor Atkine), former Red Brigades terrorist. He had no chance to use it when Scatti's men seized him.
Smith & Wesson 39
Nickel-plated Smith & Wesson Model 39-2 is the weapon of Le Stéphanois (Serge Reggiani), commissaire Grindel's informant. He was shot when riding on a carousel, but managed to fire his pistol several times - only to kill and wound innocent bystanders.
Star Model BM
In the opening scene a two-tone Star Model BM can be seen under the pillow of the criminal boss Ginzbaum. He had no chance to use it when Scatti's "death squad" attacked his penthouse.
SMGs
MAT-49
MAT-49 SMGs are used by police and Gendarmerie including several people of the "Loyalty to the police" organization.
Uzi
Scatti's men use Uzi SMG to kill a witness.
Rifles
Ruger Mini-14
Ruger Mini-14 rifles are used by Gendarmerie.
Ruger AC556K
Commissaire Scatti (Michel Serrault) used AC556K version of Mini-14 to kill inspector Péret.
Sniper Rifles
In the final scene several police snipers are seen on the roof. They are armed with rifles that cannot be identified due to the distance.
Shotguns
SPAS-12
Franchi SPAS-12 shotguns are seen in hand of police officers in the scene of the attack on Grindel's car. There can be seen two versions of SPAS-12 with different barrel length.
Unidentified shotgun
Police officer Lutz (Xavier Deluc) is armed with a shotgun with pistol grip in one of the opening scenes.
Winchester Model 1200 Defender
In the final scene Commissaire Grindel (Alain Delon) is armed with Winchester Model 1200 Defender with sawn-off butt and extended tube.
Machine guns
MG42
Twin MG42 machine gun installed in the truck is used by "Loyalty to the police" men to attack commissaire Grindel's car.
Other
F1 Hand Grenade
French F1 hand grenade is seen in hands of one of the policemen.
Rocket Launcher
Spiero (Stéphane Jobert) uses a rocket launcher to destroy the Gendarmerie minivan.
Custom Flamethrower
In the opening scene of the movie one of Scatti's men uses a custom flamethrower to burn alive criminal boss Ginzbaum. The flamethrower consists of the launcher and the glass ampoule with flammable liquid which is assembled to the launcher's muzzle. The launcher itself looks like "Granatpistole" Heckler & Koch HK69A1 or some of its modification.
Crossbow
Lutz (Xavier Deluc) uses a crossbow to shoot Le Stéphanois, commissaire Grindel's informant.
Spray Gun
Commissaire Scatti (Michel Serrault) uses a spray gun loaded with cyanide to kill Ginzbaum's boyfriend.
