The film is a sequel to I Soliti Idioti, while a sequel called I Soliti Idioti 3: Il ritorno was released in 2024.

Some cannons are mounted on a car of the "Pirati della Strada". Pirati della strada can be translated as "Joyriders" albeit the schetch jokes upon the fact that pirati also means pirates, thus making it a visual pun, beside obviously parodying the then recent movie Pirates of the Caribbean.
