Full Metal Panic!: The Second Raid (2005)

Full Metal Panic! is an action/comedy anime franchise based on a series of light novels by Shoji Gatoh. The first adaptation was in the form of a 26 episode television series that covers the first three novels (Fighting Boy Meets Girl, Running One Night Stand, and Into the Blue). This was followed up by a 12 episode sequel series titled Full Metal Panic?: Fumoffu, which used genre parodies and unused material from the first season to create a gag series. A third television series, Full Metal Panic!: The Second Raid, picks up where the first series ends and adapts the fourth and fifth novels (Ending Day by Day parts I and II) into 12 episodes. All three series have been released in English by Funimation and Madman Entertainment.

The following firearms can be seen in the anime series Full Metal Panic! as well as its sequel series Full Metal Panic?: Fumoffu and Full Metal Panic!: The Second Raid.

Handguns

Glock 26

Sousuke Sagara uses a Glock 26 as his primary sidearm.

Sousuke fires his Glock. Note the Glock trademark.
File:SagGlock.jpg
Sousuke disarms himself, dumbping his Glock, a spare magazine,...and then a whole mess of explosives, much to everyone's comic shock.
File:SagGlock2.jpg
Sousuke poses with his Glock 26 in an eyecatch for the season two episode "Summer Illusion of Steel."
File:SagGlock6.jpg
The G26 is too small for Sosuke's hands, so he must teacup it, as he does here during "Summer Illusion of Steel" (S2E3) as he confronts Washio, the chauffeur of the boy who's currently holding Chidori. Note the HK69 slung over his shoulder, and the clearly evident Glock trademark.
File:Fmpg17.jpg
The Glock at rest, its magazine removed.

Steyr SPP

In addition to his Glock 26, Sousuke makes frequent use of a Steyr SSP that has been modified to be fully automatic. He takes it to school several times, but has it confiscated as the staff apparently mistakes it for an airsoft gun.

A thug tells his boss about Sousuke's Steyr TMP in a rather amusing scene of "The Man from the South/A Hostage with No Compromises" (S2E1).

Ruger KP89

Having decided to take a page out of Gates' playbook, Melissa shoves her P-8 in a Mithril traitor's mouth during "Beautiful Sicily" (S3E5). This was clearly not what he had in mind when he invited her into his room.

SIG-Sauer P226

Several SIG P226 by multiple characters throughout the series, most notably by Gaurin, who has outfitted his with a laser pointer and sound suppressor, and by Xia Yu Lan, who experiences a stovepipe jam. She clears the jam quickly and easily, resulting in one of the series' most memorable moments for weapon enthusiasts.

H&K Mk 23 Mod 0

A Heckler & Koch Mark 23 Mod. 0 can be seen in the hands of a U.S. Navy admiral. While the U.S. Navy does use this weapon in real-life, it is used primarily by special operations forces, such as U.S. Navy SEALs. A Beretta 92-derivative would have been more appropriate as an admiral's sidearm.

Submachine guns

FN P90

The FN P90 makes frequent appearances in Full Metal Panic!, being used by everyone from Mithril troops to an overzealous police officer.

MAC-10

Near the end of the first television series, Gauron uses a MAC-10 chambered for 9mm Parabellum.

PP-90

The Amalgam terrorists who try to kidnap Kaname Chidori use soviet-made PP-90 folding submachine guns, one of which is commandeered by Sousuke. This is ironic, as the Mithril soldiers who help break the siege are armed with the similarly named FN P90.

MP5K PDW

Multiple H&K MP5K-PDW submachine guns can be seen throughout the series.

Gauron casually strolls by a table loaded with disproportionate weapons in an image Mithril obtained showing the terrorist was still alive. The Uzi can be seen at the upper right hand corner of the table, half in and half out of the shot.

Assault Rifles

AKM

Various soldiers and terrorists can be seen using AKM rifles.

File:FMPAK.jpg
Irregulars armed with AKMs stand in the shade cast by a Soviet "Savage" Arm Slave. AS units are handled in a way less like heavy armor and more like weapons in terms of proliferation; thus AKs and Savages are extremely common amongst terrorist organizations in this universe.

M16A2

Melissa Mao and Belfangan Clouseau are seen using M16A1 rifles outfitted with A2 handguards. Both rifles fire on full auto, denoting them as A1 models. Impressively, Kurz is shown in a flashback using the M16 (and a single round) to cripple an enemy Savage during his first mission. Sousuke is also seen using a M16 with an M203 attachment while using the Bonta-kun power suit in Fumoffu.

Colt Model 609

Sagara uses a Colt Model 609 rifle during his mission in Helmajistan. The weapon's compact size suggests it is issued to AS crews as a defensive weapon, similar to how PDWs are issued to tank crews.

H&K G36E

During the mission in Sicily, Major Mao has a suitcase of weapons hidden in the back of her getaway car that contains a pair of Heckler & Koch G36E rifles. Even though G36 magazines have buds on either side that allows the user to snap magazines together, Weber duct tapes two magazines together jungle style.

SVD Dragunov

The Mithril agent code-named "Wraith" uses a SVD Dragunov sniper rifle.

Unidentified .22LR Rifle

Sousuke is seen using this rifle during a flashback. (The Novel describes it as a .22 rifle, but the rifle pictured is a Crosman 800x. The artists mistook ".22 pellet" for ".22LR". Although the two have a similar name, they are very different.

Shotguns

Benelli M3 Super 90

Sousuke uses a Benelli M3 Super 90 during the beach episode in Fumoffu. Major Mao is also seen using a M3 Super 90 during her mission in Sicily.

Sousuke lowers his Benelli and remarks "What a simple game" during "Summer Illusion of Steel" (S2E3). It's worth noting that either the shell (or the watermelon) was loaded with some form of explosive, as the melon explodes with force roughly equivalent to a landmine with Sousuke shoots it.

Remington 870

Sousuke uses a Remington M870 loaded with rubber buckshot during an episode of Fumoffu.

Serbu Super Shorty

Failing to understand the concept of competitive martial arts, Sousuke uses a Serbu Super Shorty loaded with rubber slugs during a dojo match in Fumoffu. He consistently wields the shotgun throughout the season, always loaded with less than lethal ammo, for various comic purposes.

Heavy Weapons

M203

During Fumoffu, Sousuke uses a M16 Rifle equipped with a M203 grenade launcher in conjunction with the series's iconic Bonta-Kun power armor.

File:FMP16.jpg
"Fumoffu!" As an interesting side note, it's a minor plot point in "A Fancy without Honor or Humanity" that Sousuke had been trying to sell the Bonta-Kun AS in conjunction with Belgian arms company FN. Aside from the American Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Miami Police Department, he didn't get any takes, and he can't figure out why.

Heckler & Koch HK69

Sousuke uses a Heckler & Koch HK69A1 grenade launcher during the beach episode of Fumoffu. He usually loads it with less-than-lethal ammo, hitting his targets in the face with it during "Summer Illusion of Steel" (S2E3). At one point he accidentally loads a live grenade and destroys a pillar behind his target, and by luck the falling debris incapacitates his target.

File:SAGGL3.jpg
Sousuke ejects the empty shell from his grenade launcher, while explaining to his incapacitated opponent knocking over the pillar with the grenade wasn't his plan at all, but that he'd accidentally loaded a live round instead of a practice shell.

RPG-7

Several RPG-7 launchers are seen throughout the series.

Other Weapons

CornerShot

Several Mithril soldiers use CornerShot systems equipped with suppressed Glock 17 pistols with extended magazines while operating within the confines of a series of underground tunnels. Note that the squad using the CornerShots don't turn on the cameras' viewing screens. Instead they wear a goggle attachment connected to the weapon itself. We can assume they connect directly to the camera from that.

Grenades

Sousuke is seen using a wide variety of grenades that includes smoke grenades, flash bangs, concussion grenades, and a few extras of his designs. Apparently the word moderation doesn't exist in his vocabulary.

File:FMP2grenade.jpg
It's dangerous to go alone!

Sarin Gas

Used by Sagara as a trap when someone was trying to tamper with bread that the students were trying to sell. Can you say "counterproductive"?

Taser M26

Tokyo Metropolitan Police Detective Yoko Wakana can be seen with a Advanced Taser M26, which she equips to track down the "sexual deviant" "Pony," but instead ends up using ineffectively against Sousuke.
