Escape to Athena is a 1979 WWII action film starring Richard Roundtree, Sonny Bono, Elliott Gould, and Stephanie Powers as a group of resistance fighters and POW's who fight to escape a German-occupied Greek island while plotting to steal treasure stored on there. The film is notable for featuring three actors who had appeared in James Bond films: David Niven as archaeologist Professor Blake, Roger Moore as Major Otto Hecht, and Telly Savalas as well as being directed by George P. Cosmatos, who would later direct Rambo: First Blood Part II.

A Mauser C96 is also used in the film by Charlie (Elliott Gould), who is seen dual-wielding it with a Walther P38.
Walther P38
A Walther P38 fitted with a suppressor is also carried by Zeno (Telly Savalas). Charlie is seen dual-wielding a Walther along with a Mauser C96.

The Lee-Enfield No.4 MkI rifle is seen in the hands of Greek resistance fighters.

The Mauser Karabiner 98k rifle is seen in the hands of German soldiers and Greek resistance fighters. The sniper variant of the Kar98k is also seen in the film.
