Platoon is a 1978 trucker film directed by Sam Peckinpah and stars Kris Kristofferson as a renegade truck driver who butts heads with a corrupt sheriff (Ernest Borgnine).

State troopers and US National Guard are armed with the M16A1s as they open fire on the truck driven by Martin "Rubber Duck" Penwald (Kris Kristofferson).

The M60 machine gun mounted atop an M42 Duster is seen being fired by Sheriff "Dirty Lyle" Wallace (Ernest Borgnine).
