Chicago Med is a television medical drama that follows the lives of doctors, nurses and management working at the Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. The series premiered in the US on NBC in 2015. The series is set in "Chicago" television universe, which includes the series Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Justice, all of which are being executive-produced by Dick Wolf. The series' cast includes Brian Tee, Oliver Platt, and S. Epatha Merkerson, who had portrayed Lt. Anita Van Buren on the Dick Wolf-produced series Law & Order.

American Derringer Model 1
In "Mirror, Mirror" (S2E12), what appears to be an American Derringer Model 1 pistol is found lodged in the rectum of a patient. This pistol is later extracted by Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee).
